August 1, 2014  OC’s 125th Birthday Chronicled in Reception, ExhibitsCome celebrate Orange County's Quasquicentennial on Tuesday, August 5, at 8:30 a.m., when the public is invited to a reception commemorating the very first Board of Supervisors meeting held 125 years ago. Supervisor John Moorlach will provide remarks, as will author and historian Phil Brigandi. The reception will be held in the lobby of the Hall of Administration, 333 W. Santa Ana Blvd. in Santa Ana. Two historical exhibits also are featured at the Old Orange County Courthouse.
July 31, 2014  Property Assessment Appeals Accepted through Sept. 15Property owners may file appeals to their annual property assessments now through September 15 with the office of the Orange County Clerk of the Board. Property owners should be aware that they may file an appeal themselves—there is no requirement to use a tax agent nor does the County of Orange charge a processing fee to file an appeal.

July 9, 2014  Installment Plan Available for Unpaid 2013-14 Property TaxesReal property with outstanding taxes, penalties, and fees levied for FY 2013-14 that were not paid or postmarked by June 30, 2014 is now considered tax defaulted. As of July 1, those taxpayers who have defaulted on property taxes can take advantage of an installment payment plan, Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector Shari L. Freidenrich, CPA, announced. The taxpayer must qualify to enter into an installment plan by meeting certain criteria.
